Stop the Morning Scroll

Several months ago I asked a group of actors about their morning routines, and I was utterly shocked to hear so many people say that the first thing they do in the morning is pick up their phone and scroll through social media.

STOP THE MORNING SCROLL.

If you see yourself in this post, I want you to ask yourself a question:

What value am I getting out of scrolling first thing in the morning?

Now, I know that sounds like a trick question and that the answer should be “None.” But you ARE getting some sort of value if you are continuing to do it. Perhaps the value is that it is letting you hide. Perhaps it is giving you a reason to give up, to get angry, to compare yourself to others. Perhaps it is giving you the perfect excuse for not going to the gym, vocalizing, stretching, meditating, etc. See if you can get honest with yourself and figure out WHY you continue to scroll.

Now ask yourself another question:

What value might I add to my life by eliminating the morning scroll?

My challenge to you this week is to find out the answer to that question.

You can do it.

STOP THE MORNING SCROLL.
