Studio Workshop

A CREATIVE PLAYGROUND TO REMIND YOU WHY YOU ARE DOING THIS IN THE FIRST PLACE

Welcome to Studio Workshop

If an actor friend told you, “You need to take a class at JWS,” this is probably the class they were talking about. Studio Workshop is the heartbeat of our work at JWS. Based on a commitment to process rather than product, this class is designed to push you out of your comfort zone and connect you to your deepest sense of artistic purpose.

Want to experience creative freedom and find out what you’re really made of as an artist? Want to see astonishing work by your fellow artists? Want to hear some of the best singing you’ve ever heard in your life? Studio Workshop is where it’s at.

Real talk: there is a lot of risk-taking involved. You will fall flat on your face. You will soar to new heights. You will learn things about yourself that you never considered before. If you decide to join us, fear is inevitable and courage is required.

This class begins with 60 minutes of group work followed by 15-20 minute individual work sessions. We will prompt you with creative challenges, but ultimately you bring in any material you want to work on. Work sessions are completely customized to each artist, with exercises, prompts, and challenges that meet you exactly where you are.

Class size is limited to 7 artists (3 hour session) or 6 artists (2.5 hour session).
