Monologue Workshop

Prepare your piece for the audition room

Welcome to Monologue Workshop

Real talk: Monologue auditions are weird! During an EPA, I will see at least 100 different monologues. Different plays. Different styles. Different tones. From my side of the table, I often feel confused by what I’m seeing and am left feeling quite dissatisfied.

Here’s the good news… it doesn’t have to be this way. Over the years, I’ve developed a bunch of tricks and tools for helping monologues make sense in the audition room, and I want to teach them to you.

In this three-week workshop, you will work on one monologue.

Week one: I’ll share my audition tips and tricks, and we will apply them to your audition monologue to make sure that everything is clear: the context, the style, the tone, the button. Confusion be gone!

Week two: We will work the material on it’s feet, play with a bunch of different exercises, and explore all of the possibilities.

Week three: We will coach the piece into tip-top audition shape so that it is ready to go!

You’ll leave this workshop with a polished audition monologue, but much more importantly, you will understand the process for getting a monologue audition-ready, and you’ll be able to apply that process to all of the other monologues in your audition repertoire.

Class size is limited to 10 artists.

If you are out of town and want to join this class virtually, we are 100% prepared to zoom you in. Just make a note of that in your registration form.
